RACING

SMART CRY went to Newcastle for a Class 2 Hcp, over 1200m, on the Beaumont track. A soft 6, after overnight rain, saw a bias towards runners on the speed. She had no luck as they turned for the run home, when horses went round her at the top of the straight, which saw her held up for run, only getting clear with 100m to go. When she got galloping room SMART CRY responded well to run 5th beaten just over 2 lengths.
