GOLDANE will have a new career as a broodmare, following our decision to retire her. After her Kembla run, where she pulled up a 2 out of 5 lame, Bjorn gave her a week off from the track, allowing her to just potter around, before letting her slip along last Tuesday, in a gallop. Sadly, she pulled up again slightly sore, and x-rays of her knees were taken. The prognosis was further racing would not be in her best interests, and retirement now would see her retire, with no long term damage to her knees. Unfortunately, we did not get to see the best of her as a racehorse, but I am sure if her off spring get a modicum of her ability, they will be successful race horses.

CUESTA will be having her first run this preparation, on Thursday, at Newcastle. Following 2 good trials, she is ready to improve on her last preparation, where she had 5 starts for 2 2nds, and 2 3rds.

BROADWAY FOLLIES will have a change of trainer, when she comes back into work. A decision to give her an opportunity to run  in the Provincial Championship’s in the Autumn, will see Kristen Buchanan, training at Wyong, take over her conditioning.

The TIGER OF MALAY filly arrived into Bjorn’s stables (still awaiting a name) last Thursday, Bjorn reported “ nice sized filly who has settled in well”. She will be given an easy introduction to stable life.

Have a top week.
