Re Weekly Report / Trial wins
SMART CRY will face the starter again tomorrow, at Kembla Grange. On a track currently rated a Soft 7, she has come on from her last start win, and will once again be ridden by Heavelon Van Der Hoven. From barrier 6, we would be looking for her to be midfield in the run, and with the step up in distance looking to be to her advantage, we would expect her to be competitive again.
REAL BAKER trialled very well against strong opposition, in an Open trial over 800m, last Tuesday, at Hawkesbury. Ridden by stable apprentice, Olivia Chambers, he jumped well, led and, when asked to lengthen stride, did so without any urging, to win his heat by a short half head. Will trial again at Rosehill, on Tuesday, 10th March.
PICK UP THE TAB ran the quickest last 600m of the morning, at Hawkesbury, in his trial win, over 800m. Jumping from the outside but one, he was quickly into stride in the Open trial to lead, before settling in the trial to the top of the straight. Jockey, Reagan Bayliss, asked for more at the 100m mark, and PICK UP THE TAB responded putting approx. 2 lengths on them in the run to the line, doing it under his own steam. He will trial again at either Randwick, or Kembla Grange, on Thursday, 5th March.
FOXGLOVE arrived into Bjorn’s stables last Tuesday, and has settled in well, whilst the IN THE CONGO/VICTIMS filly commenced breaking in this morning.
Have a top week, and good luck to the owners of SMART CRY tomorrow.
Regards
Graeme Smith
