SMART CRY replicated her last preparation, winning 2 nd  up yesterday, at Newcastle, over 1350m.  Well ridden, and racing just off the speed, she needed all her toughness to  get over the top of the leader, getting up in the last stride. At the 100m mark, she was running 3 rd  and looking like being placed, before unleashing the last 50m for a strong win, with the possibility of further wins over greater distances, a distinct possibility. RACING   SMART CRY scored a strong win yesterday, at Newcastle, 2 nd  up, over 1350m. Jumped well from an inside gate, sat behind leader in run, got left flat footed as they sprinted turning for home, but finished strongly the last 100m, to blowse the leader on the line.         TRIALS   PICK UP THE TAB continues to be on his best behaviour as he heads to the trials, at Hawkesbury, Tuesday, 24th February.   REAL BAKER has enjoyed a slow build up and will also trial at Hawkesb

SMART CRY has come on since her first run this preparation, and will be stepped up in trip for her next run, being either Newcastle, on the Beaumont track again, Monday, 16 th  over 1350m or, returning to the track she enjoyed her first win at, Kembla Grange, the following day, over 1400m.   Both PICK UP THE TAB and REAL BAKER are honing in on their first trial this preparation, with Bjorn looking for trials week beginning Monday 23rd Feb as their likely target.   The BETTER
