RACING
CUESTA was the victim of a ride that won’t go in the scrapbook as one of the jockey’s finest, at Bathurst, last Thursday. Was 3 wide from the jump and was used up to go forward, 5 wide on the corner, before succumbing late to run 2nd.
BROADWAY FOLLIES has gone to the paddock after her run at Randwick. Dwelt when the gates opened, and didn’t muster speed, ending up in the last bunch, of the 12 runners. The leaders ran home in a tick over 34sec for the last 600m, and Broadway Follies was unable to finish off.
TORQUIN drew wide at Bathurst, and had to be restrained from the barrier rise. Got out of her ground as the speed was on early, and got through the line over the unsuitable 1100m journey.
SMART CRY will go to either the Kensington track, on Wednesday, or Hawkesbury, on Thursday, after being scratched last week.
