TORQUIN confirmed racing on rain affected, and badly cut up tracks, not to her liking, at Mudgee, and was eased down in the run to the line, on Sunday. Jockey Olivia Chambers rode her a treat, jumping well, positioning her just behind the speed, in the run. Approaching the 600m when asked for an effort, Olivia said “ the wheels started to spin, and she was not able to pick up”. A filly, which to date, works better at home, than she goes on race day, we have now moved to our Country trainer, Geoff O’Brien. With a staying pedigree, and taking her time to switch on to racing, we will see her get up to more suitable distances with Geoff.
SMART CRY took a little time to come through her debut run at Hawkesbury, and will be nominated this week for Kembla Grange, Thursday 17 July.
Stable movements saw REAL BAKER come into Warwick Farm, with PICK UP THE TAB, GOLDANE, and the TIGER OF MALAY filly due into pre training next week.
Have a good week.
